~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ War is never pretty and in the
words of David Douglas Duncan
who covered the Marines from the onset, "This is War". The scenes that follow are only a part of the action that went
on as the Marines went from San Diego to Pusan, South Korea. Battles in
the south along the Pusan Perimeter, Naktong bulge, Inchon, Seoul, Wonsan,
Koto-ri, Hagaru-ri, Yudam-ni, Chosin and back. This was an action filled
time for the Marines and other units in Korea. The Marines performed in a
manner that was a credit to the Corps and to the Country.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is hoped that the viewer will
get some idea of life in the early days of the Korean conflict. What is
written and shown here is not "Official" only the recollections of one who
was a part of the bigger picture. gene dixon This site created and maintained by Gene Dixon Copyright © 1999-2012. Gene Dixon . All rights reserved. [BACK]
